Why do we sometimes take shortcuts, even when we know how to work safely? Through an interactive statement-based game and dilemma cards, employees discussed routines, time pressure and the tendency to underestimate risks. <\/p>

Teams assessed familiar workplace situations and discussed how dangerous they were, what the potential consequences could be and what actions were needed. This helped translate risk assessment into concrete decisions on the work floor. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

In the second workshop, employees discovered how personal motivations influence the way we perceive safety. Teams then took part in Safety Match, a memory game in which they matched safe and unsafe situations. <\/p>

With each match, participants discussed why a particular approach was safer and what action they would take themselves. This highlighted how different perspectives can complement and strengthen each other, and how safe behaviour is something we create together. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Speak Up: Encouraging open conversations about safety<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The third workshop focused on reporting safety concerns and speaking up. During the Speak Up Challenge, employees practised realistic role-playing scenarios: from a procedure being shortened under time pressure to an unreported deviation or a colleague engaging in unsafe behaviour. <\/p>

With Safety Sketches, teams then turned their insights into visual messages that could also be used after the Safety Day.
