The client’s request

Beltaste, which originated from the family business Vanreusel Snacks, has been known for decades for its frozen snacks. Hygiene, quality and safety are paramount in the production department. Beltaste therefore turned to DENKie to find a simple way to communicate the procedures to its staff.

Our solution

Presenting instructions in a bite-sized format is right up our alley! DENKie set to work on creating some great campaigns for Beltaste. The first step was a workshop to identify the company’s needs. This revealed that we could offer a wide range of topics, so we put our creative minds to work.

Safety tastes like more

As a recognisable factor, DENKie developed a label with a clear slogan and a subtle reference to the logo. In addition, we brought several mascots and characters to life to reinforce the slogan. Meet Belli-Jeanne, Belli-José, and Belli-Rose, among others! Three delightful animated characters who provide tips and tricks to the staff.

Beltaste deliciously captured

Our photographer visited the site to capture images of Beltaste’s production department. Staff wearing hairnets, masks, safety shoes, hearing protection and more were all captured on camera. We then used these photos to create an initial series of posters to announce the launch campaign. In addition, we also created an image database to support the safety and well-being campaign.

A recipe for safety

Thanks to the launch campaign, Beltaste employees get a first look at the themes that will be covered. From workplace safety to health, and from quality to sustainability. In a short animated video, the mascots share a few tips and tricks to improve well-being at work. The DENKie media library plays a crucial role in displaying the videos on a single platform. Thanks to the posters and life-size boards featuring a QR code linking to the video in the media library, the campaign has a clear presence throughout the company.

Quarterly campaigns that leave you wanting more

After a successful launch campaign, the quarterly campaigns could begin. The initial focus was on MOS, cuts, and slips and trips. Accidents can easily happen, and they’re often painful. Yet, many cuts and falls can be prevented. For Beltaste, we visualized several procedures to promote workplace safety. A short, bite-sized animated video with a quiz to test knowledge. The bonus? All videos are also available in English for non-Dutch-speaking colleagues who haven’t quite mastered Dutch yet.

Nudges that are appreciated

Thanks to various nudges, employees’ safety behavior is encouraged. DENKie designed, among other things, a Beltaste “spot the mistakes” puzzle with 10 errors. The correct answers can, of course, be found in the safety campaign. The prize for those who submit a completed puzzle? A fun and practical lunchbox. Delightful!

Bite-sized e-learning about HACCP

As a company in the food industry, Beltaste must adhere to certain hygiene and quality regulations. This ensures they can offer food-safe and delicious snacks. To present the most important regulations in a digestible format, DENKie created a 2D animated video about hygiene, food safety, and HACCP. Essential knowledge regarding food safety in the food sector! We’ll post the video on our training platform, along with an accompanying quiz. The e-learning course on food safety ensures that knowledge is retained more effectively and can be easily repeated on an annual basis.

“What we remember most is DENKie’s down-to-earth approach, especially the playful way they use characters and animations. DENKie strives for sustainable collaboration, which in our case was a decisive factor.” – Werner Pinxten, COO Beltaste
