Five interactive games about recognizable risks.
During the Winter Games, participants rotated through five themed sessions in small subteams. Each game was based on recognizable workplace situations and challenged teams to make decisions together, identify risks, and define concrete actions.
From slips & trips and chemical substances to food safety, team impact and decision-making: each theme was translated into a concrete, playful format. By actively discussing and making decisions, participants discovered how behaviour, context and collaboration all help shape safety.
Learning by doing: from insight to action
Each session followed a fixed structure: a short, powerful introduction, followed by active gameplay and a moment for reflection. Participants did not simply look for the right answer, but also discussed why certain choices are made and what this means for their own work. This turned safety from a theoretical concept into something tangible and open for discussion within the team.
By formulating solutions and making agreements themselves, participants developed a stronger sense of ownership and immediately made the link to everyday practice.
Train-the-trainer as a lever for impact
GBfoods trainers were introduced to the content and format of the games in advance, enabling them to actively facilitate sessions themselves during the day. This not only increased engagement, but also ensured strong embedding within the organisation.
The combination of a DENKie expert and internal trainers made it possible to share knowledge, build experience and continue applying the approach on the shop floor afterwards.
Visual tools and reminders for lasting impact
To extend the impact of the Winter Games, we developed a series of supporting tools: pocket booklets, posters and visual screen content.
During the sessions, participants noted down their insights and concrete actions, which they could then take back to their daily work. The visual materials ensure that the key messages remain visible on the shop floor and continue to remind teams of their commitment. This way, safety becomes more than a one-day initiative: it becomes an ongoing story within GBfoods.
