In a DENKie video, the Hydro visitor is introduced to the Lichtervelde site. A few practical matters are addressed: where to park, where the entrance is, and which personal protective equipment might be required. This way, everyone is prepared to visit the site safely!
The world of Hydro in your pocket
DENKie designed a fun pocket booklet for Hydro Lichtervelde. With the “Golden Rules,” employees of the aluminum factory carry all the do’s and don’ts in their pocket. Or as the cover puts it: “Zo doen wieder dat ier” (“This is how we do it here”). A playful West-Flemish touch that connects employees and motivates them to follow the safety regulations diligently.
Toolbox to-go
DENKie gave a creative twist to common situations. From now on, Hydro Lichtervelde will distribute the First Aid toolbox to employees. Inside, they’ll find the handy pocket booklet with a QR code linking to two DENKie videos with examples or tips. Or even better: information on how they can prevent accidents in the future.
Welcome on board!
New employees are warmly welcomed at Hydro. The factory in Lichtervelde provides an onboarding program with six DENKie videos. This way, new Hydro team members immediately receive the most important information to start their job safely, from general guidelines to what to do in emergencies, working with overhead cranes, and more.

Safety first, also in Harderwijk
Working in an aluminum factory means working with high-tech machinery. Safety is also a top priority for Hydro Harderwijk. An animated DENKie video explains exactly how to use a lifting aid or how to move profiles correctly and safely through the workspace.
Crack the code
Nudges are the perfect way to maintain safety knowledge and awareness among employees. DENKie developed a fun campaign for Hydro about handling hand tools safely. For eight weeks, Hydro employees were presented with a new situation on screens throughout the company. Each situation had a correct answer that they could enter on a challenge card. Collecting the correct letters allowed them to crack the code for the toolbox and win a fun prize for finding the treasure! This way, the safety campaign is actively discussed and we positively reinforce the safety culture at Hydro.
International campaigns? We’re ready!
The safety campaigns at the Hydro Lichtervelde site are running at full speed, and this hasn’t gone unnoticed by international sites. In addition to the Benelux region, the animated videos and pocket cards are now also being introduced at European and UK sites. We translated the various tools into the desired language and provided customization as needed. Think of different numbers, a custom map, or different instructions.
