The client’s request

Lavoro vzw brings together three social enterprises: Oesterbank, De Duinenwacht and De Kringwinkel Kust. Lavoro turned to DENKie to facilitate the onboarding of employees, inform them about safety and provide clear instructions.

Our solution

With DENK!, we had already developed an employer branding campaign for Lavoro. So the mascot and knowledge about the company were already there! With DENKie, we now had the honour of developing onboarding videos, safety videos and instructions for the bottleneck functions. Our approach of combining simplicity with a dose of creativity was once again our strong point. We developed several powerful and clear animated videos.

Get started quickly!

Clear introductory videos make it easy for new employees to start their careers at Lavoro’s social enterprises. The animated video shows the company’s mission and values, as well as a handy map and some important agreements. This clarifies what is expected in the event of illness, what breaks there are, what PPE is required, and more. Even the important icons used within the company are explained. The result? New employees are quickly informed about important matters and can get started right away.

Safety first

Safety is always a priority at Lavoro, both before, during and after work. The safety videos provide clear instructions on how to work safely. Which PPE should you wear for which job? What should you pay attention to when moving around internally? How can you lift in a back-friendly way and what should you do in the event of an accident or emergency? All of this is covered in the animated videos. Personalised for each social enterprise. Simple and effective.

Bottleneck functions with a clear purpose

For seven different bottleneck positions within the three social enterprises, we worked with DENKie to create animated videos providing detailed information about each position. Unlike the general introduction and safety videos, these videos go into more detail about the specific instructions for each bottleneck job. This includes information for green workers, forklift drivers, warehouse workers, transport workers, etc.

Points to note in your pocket

Pocket cards are handy cards that you can easily distribute and keep track of at work. For social enterprise De Oesterbank, we created various cards with a range of topics, from waste sorting to rules regarding breaks. This allows employees to see important guidelines or tips at a glance.

A message in icons

Working in a Dutch-speaking environment as a non-native speaker can be challenging. That is why we created a practical and visually appealing pictorial book for Lavoro. This book contains clear illustrations of various objects, with their Dutch names and translations into five other languages. This allows non-native speakers to easily look up the right words and communicate better in the workplace. A valuable tool for a more inclusive and efficient working environment!

Cycling safely to work

Commuting is an important issue for every employee. For Lavoro, we created two animated videos on the theme of “Cycling safely to work”. One video focuses on promoting cycling as an attractive alternative to driving. Thanks to clear advantages (such as time savings, health and environmental friendliness), we want to inspire employees to cycle to work more often. The other video focuses on safe cycling in Ostend’s city traffic. The animated video contains practical tips and visual examples of local traffic situations so that cyclists can get to work more safely.
