Greetings from Mrs. Lays & Mr. Doritos Doritos Doritos
In order to create a beautiful whole of the communication tools and animation videos, we designed two mascots, a number of characters and a label as a common thread. The mascots Mrs. Lays and Mr. Doritos provide the introduction of the animation video. The cheerful chips welcome you and then let the characters speak. The characters represent the various employees at PepsiCo. This makes the instructions recognizable and less abstract. The label ‘Create more safety’ connects everything together into a powerful slogan, suitable for a production environment.
Instructions presented in a tasty way
In an international company like PepsiCo, there are many people working, but also many external people passing by. Each must adhere to the guidelines for a safe working environment, but each also has different focal points. By means of 4 different animation videos in Dutch, French and English, the safety instructions are clearly displayed for each target group. For example, DENKie provided an instruction video for visitors, employees/interims, drivers and contractors.
DENKie Safetyboarding in use
DENKie Safetyboarding optimizes the access process for visitors, contractors and drivers. PepsiCo chose to use the platform to grant contractors access to the site. After watching the instructional video, the contractor takes a short quiz. Those who pass receive an access certificate after which they may enter the site. The platform is also used for the construction site where extra space for PepsiCo is being built. The safety instructions are made clear by means of their own video and questions.
An interactive safety wall
As a company in the food industry, PepsiCo has no choice but to follow strict rules to guarantee quality and food safety. In order to motivate employees and to continue to draw attention to the quality & food safety rules, we developed an interactive wall. The wall projects various figures on quality & food safety (e.g. number of recalls), general Q&S information and tips. Especially for this wall, we also developed 5 short animation videos on food safety & quality rules (e.g. rules on hairnets, personal belongings, work clothing, etc. in production) that can be reached via QR codes on the visual. In this way, everyone who enters the production area can refresh their knowledge.
Safety that moves with you
To communicate quickly and visibly about current safety topics, we developed mobile safety boards on wheels. These boards make it possible to bring hot topics and recent incidents directly to the workplace—exactly where they are needed.
Thanks to the user-friendly click system, posters can be replaced quickly and easily. This keeps communication always up to date and relevant.
The result? Flexible, visual communication that responds to the moment and literally puts safety in motion.
10 No Debates: clear, visual and without discussion
To communicate essential safety and food safety rules clearly and consistently, we developed the “10 No Debates” posters. Ten clear behaviors that always apply, with no room for interpretation or discussion.
The strength lies in simplicity: short, direct messages combined with recognizable illustrations from the work environment. By developing the posters in both Dutch and French, the guidelines are accessible to all employees on the work floor.
