The client’s request

During their Safety Day, URSA by Etex wanted to actively engage employees in reflecting on risks and safe behaviour. Rather than traditional presentations, the goal was to create an interactive approach that encourages both white- and blue-collar employees to think, discuss and experience first-hand how time pressure, routine and assumptions can influence their decisions.

The challenge? Turning safety into relatable, real-life situations that employees not only understand, but also apply in their daily work.

Our solution

We developed two complementary interactive workshops. During a workshop on risk perception and assessment, employees actively discussed risks and safe decisions. We also challenged them in a mobile Escape Room focusing on internal transport and forklift safety.

This way, we combined thinking and doing: first identifying and assessing risks, then experiencing what happens when teams have to make decisions together under pressure.

Recognising risks and encouraging open discussions

Through an interactive Safety Energizer and relatable dilemma cards, we brought topics such as LOTOTO, PPE, working at height, LMRA and machine safety to life.

In small teams, employees assessed real-life situations: how dangerous is this, what could happen and what action is needed? Different perspectives served as a starting point for discussion, reflection and practical agreements on the work floor.

Escape Room: acting safely under pressure

In a mobile Escape Room, employees were challenged to put their forklift safety knowledge to the test. Under time pressure, teams had to work together, identify risks and make safe decisions.

In addition to several standard Escape Room challenges, custom games tailored to URSA by Etex were also integrated. Participants took on a forklift puzzle focusing on three points of contact and eye contact, as well as a PPE game in which they had to identify and use the correct personal protective equipment.

From experience to safe behaviour

The strength of both workshops lay in translating the experience into everyday practice. Employees were encouraged to reflect on their own decisions, speak up when necessary and avoid automatically giving in to time pressure or routine.

This turned the Safety Day into more than a one-off information session. It became an engaging experience that encouraged open conversations about safety and motivated employees to keep making conscious, safe choices in their daily work.
