The client’s request

Vesuvius in Ostend is a specialized supplier to the steel industry. Risks are inevitable in a production environment, so safety is a top priority. Therefore, Vesuvius organized a Safety Day, focusing on specific safety themes. They turned to DENKie for the content and creative execution, including interactive Safety Games.

Our solution

We organised a fully customised Safety Day for Vesuvius, with the aim of raising safety awareness, discussing risks and encouraging real behavioural change. The day was actively guided by our safety experts, who not only provided the content, but also led each session in an interactive way. Participants were immersed in a diverse programme built around four core sessions.

Recognizing hazards, linking solutions

The day began with an interactive exercise on recognizing risks. Our expert introduced the importance of risk awareness, prevention, and caring for each other, including the right to stop work in unsafe situations. Participants then searched for risks on a search map and matched them to the correct solutions.

Protect your fingers!

In the next session, participants were presented with 10 visual situations where, guided by our expert, they searched for the correct answers to questions about hand safety. This session stimulated active thinking about personal protective equipment and safe working methods.

Making mental health a topic of discussion

The third session delved deeper into psychosocial risks with a short animated video and a subsequent quiz. Our expert facilitated the discussion on the importance of feeling good at work, having the courage to talk to colleagues, and the presence of a trusted advisor. During the session, our expert also actively engaged in exercises that anyone can easily do during breaks at work or at home. A real energy boost for your body!

Bingo!

The final session included an educational bingo session where participants could playfully test and refine their knowledge of chemical hazard pictograms. Our trainer introduced the employees to the world of chemical safety symbols and the associated protective equipment. The task? Identify the correct pictogram and check it off on the bingo card. Bingo? Shout it loudly and win the safety game!
